A beautiful new dust jacket for The Piano Tuner’s Song collector’s edition

The Kickstarter preparation is coming along nicely while I’m also writing Folkloric Devilry. My goodness, I underestimated how much work doing all the many design elements would be. But I’ve ordered the proof of the collector’s edition, so that’s a major landmark.

There has been one change. I intended the collector’s edition to be housed in a foiled slipcase, but the printer I’m using has told me it’s not now possible.

I wasn’t too happy there for a moment, but hey, life happens and I have another lovely option.

The collector’s edition will now be the same casebound hardback (with the large gold-foiled lyre), but now it will come with a beautiful foiled dust jacket instead, which will be absolutely stunning.

Right now, I’m thinking of launching the campaign early-ish September.

Nesting season

It’s that time of year again when the birds are making themselves known! I put up swallow cups a while back after a nest didn’t make it through a summer storm, and sparrows are nesting in one just above my bedroom window. The chicks are extremely noisy at I-shouldn’t-be-awake o’clock. And at the back of the house there’s a new swallow’s nest just being built, possibly their second hatching of the year. Looking forward to seeing them fly!

And eclipse season…

We have a solar eclipse this evening with 96% totality. It’s the same eclipse cycle as the full one we had here in 1999, also in August, so the end of one period and the beginning of another. The sun will be low in the sky, and I’ll be sitting on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic for a good view.
